What is a Mom

A mom is patience, a hand, a friend
Someone who answers the same question again and again
She is bright, beautiful, and all of the above
A child whom relies on for a push, never a shove
A mom is a teacher, provider, and leader
She is the host, a waitress, and the greeter
A mom says “No” when she wants to say “Yes”
Whose life is complete when her child says, “You’re the best”
A mom is a wife, a career person, and cook
She is a dreamer, an artist, a story teller of books
A mom is a cop, is encouragement, is trust
She epitomizes the motto, “18 or bust”
A mom is someone whom has to set rules
Only to break them when she hears, “Mom, you are so cool”
A mom, for punishment, sends their child to their room
Usually letting them out much too soon
A mom makes sure her kids go to school
So they too can obtain life’s learning tools
“Take a bath; brush your teeth; clean your room”, she will often say
Thank you God for my child, she will often pray
A child often needs someone to give them a lift
Love, laughter, and happiness is a Mom’s eternal gift
